  2. WHO WE ARE • Our club is just one of 3,800 Optimist Clubs throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and abroad that are all part of Optimist International.

  3. WHO WE ARE • Optimist clubs commit to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids” in their specific communities and its members follow the tenets of the Optimist Creed.

  4. WHO WE ARE • The Point Loma Optimist Club was started in 1954. The Club provides support to numerous youth organizations in the Point Loma area from Little League baseball to college scholarships for local high school seniors.

  5. WHAT WE DO • Optimists throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean volunteer countless hours and contribute numerous funds, approximately $80 million annually to the youth in our local communities.

  6. WHAT WE DO • The energy from Optimist clubs focuses on sponsoring and coordinating a variety of youth programs addressing the unique needs of today’s kids and teens.

  7. HOW TO HELP • JOIN • The most immediate way to help make a difference in your community is to join the Point Loma Optimist Club. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 7 am at the San Diego Yacht Club.

  8. HOW TO HELP • Once a month we have evening meetings on Monday to accomodate members who cannot attend the regular Tuesday morning meetings. Please join us for breakfast or an evening meeting. Look at the EVENT section to see upcoming meetings.

  9. HOW TO HELP • All breakfast meetings are held at the San Diego Yacht Club. The place and time for the evening meetings are listed on the upcoming events calendar. Call Art Aylott at 619-223-5832 or Vernon Lee at 619-640-3816 for details.
