  1. Tips on Finding the Perfect Frames for Your Glasses A pair of prescription glasses is so much more than a mere medium to be able to see. It can also contribute to your appearance, complement your features or if you make the wrong choice in style and shape, do your face no favours at all. The latter being the result we all desperately want to avoid but it might be that you simply don’t know how to choose. It is why the friendly and helpful team at The Glasses Company share the following tips to help you and your perfect pair of frames find each other. The most important aspect is to have certainty about the shape of your face. It can be hard to determine if you don’t have a very definite and pronounced shape to your face. The easiest way to determine your shape size is to stand in front of a mirror and close your one eye. Take a whiteboard marker and draw all along the outlines of your face in the reflection on the mirror surface. Once you have completed the exercise, you should see either a square, round, heart, triangle or oval shape on the mirror. Now you know what shape your face is. Square faces benefit from round features. You should go for round or oval lenses as it will soften your features and hard angles. When you are purchasing sunglasses and are confident in what you wear, you can also opt for cat-eye frames to add a little extra soft flair to your square face. You can also apply the same technique of contrasting shapes when you have a round face. More square or rectangular shaped frames with sharp corners will suit a softer and rounder face with fuller cheeks brilliantly. Heart-shaped faces are usually much broader at top and narrowing down towards your chin. It means that you can opt for frames which are slightly heavier at the bottom to bring balance between your broader forehead and narrow chin.

  2. While heart shapes are narrow at the bottom, triangular faces are wider at the bottom than in the forehead region. Not only do you want to bring balance to your wider jawline, but also add a touch of softness to your face. You can achieve this through cat-eye lenses, D-frames and aviator frames. If you have an oval-shaped face, you are one of the lucky ones with whom almost all frames shapes work well. You might want to opt for something which balances your already curved lines such as square or rectangular shapes or maybe even geometric shapes. Another aspect which you need to keep in consideration is how often would you be wearing your glasses. If it is only for reading, you might opt for a different shape and size then one which you would wear all the time every day. You’ll also notice that there is a difference in style and size when it comes to glasses for men and women and then there is usually a unisex range as well. When you have a petite face with fine features it is best to opt for frames which extends the same fine appeal. Lastly, you need to keep your type of lifestyle in mind. If you are a very active person, always doing sports or are often out jogging, then you might rather opt for a more lightweight option while those who prefer spending their time reading, can opt for a heavier frame. It is important to find the frames that compliment not only your face but also the life you are living as glasses that aren’t always comfortable, might become a serious hassle not benefitting you at all.
