  1. How To Run A Fulfilment Centre Like A Well-Oiled Machine

  2. Introduction As the hustle and bustle of Assam's business endeavors grows, so does the demand for a fulfilment centre in Assam. If you run a product-based e-commerce business, you will undoubtedly have a fulfilment centre. However, keeping the warehouse running smoothly is a challenge in and of itself. A warehouse that runs like a well-oiled machine is a sight to behold. Although it is simple to achieve, there are several factors that can cause a breakdown and disable the entire system.

  3. what to do during the breakdown in the system and how to optimize operation

  4. Standardize Working Operation Standardized operations must be used in a fulfilment centre to reduce errors and increase efficiency. These processes are repeatable and are carried out in accordance with a set of rules established by the organization. Inventory management, restocking, packaging, picking, packing, and cost maintenance of the fulfilment centre are all tasks. These tasks serve as the foundation for KPI measurement. Picking, packing, and inventory management are examples of tasks that must be completed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly.

  5. maintenance of equipment Any piece of equipment that fails can bring the warehouse to a halt. Furthermore, equipment failure places a physical burden on employees and can be costly to repair. Prevention can truly pay off in the warehouse. Employees should be properly trained to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly. Regular inspection of equipment wear and tear, as well as oiling of machinery, reduces the likelihood of equipment breakdown.

  6. Engage Employees A warehouse employee is intimately acquainted with every hook and nook of the warehouse. To reduce inefficiencies in the fulfilment centre, ask employees what areas need to be improved. Keep the workers happy by involving them in the warehouse efficiency planning process. Stress the significance of training and safety programmes. Ensure that every employee is properly trained in the lifting process.

  7. Check The Physical Layout If you're leasing the fulfilment centre, make sure the physical layout allows you to optimise work in the warehouse. Look for a stocking mezzanine and a wider aisle that can accommodate robots, machines, and humans. There should be enough space between palletized shelves to avoid traffic jams and to reduce walking distance. The most frequently requested items should be kept on easily accessible shelves, and each shelved product should have a unique barcode for scanning. It alleviates the difficulty of locating a single product among a plethora of shelves.

  8. Conclusion Assam is currently home to a number of fulfilment centres run by third-party logistics companies. When you lease the fulfilment centre in Assam, make sure you apply these factors to keep the warehouse's efficiency at its peak.
