  2. What is Acne? Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a disease concerning hair follicles on the face, back, and chest. Almost every teenager is affected by it during their puberty. Although bacteria are not the causes, they do play an important role in the development of acne. On the skin, acne look like occluded pores, more commonly known as blackheads or whiteheads; cysts, like boils and deep pimples; bumps containing pus, etc. Although there are several treatment for the faceavailable, it is first important to understand what causes it.

  3. Genes In most of the cases, acne is hereditary. If a single parent had suffered from severe acne, it is likely that their children will suffer as well.

  4. Pressure In some people, acne is because of the pressure from chin straps, helmets, suspenders, collars, etc. These can aggravate acne.

  5. Drugs Drugs play an important role in the development of acne as well. Some drugs can even cause or worsen acne, especially those containing bromides, iodides, or oral or injected steroids, which athletes and body builders sometimes use. There are some jobs where an individual is constantly exposed to industrial products, including cutting oils, which can cause acne.

  6. Cosmetics Cosmetics are the one of the leading causes of acne. Since each person’s skin reacts differently to different products, skin tries to fight back certain applied products by developing rashes and in severe cases, acne. Therefore, it is important to read the ingredients used in a cosmetic products to ensure that there isn’t an allergic reaction. Simple acnes are easy to treat and doesn’t cause any harm.
