  1. 7th Period Wave Interaction Kiosk

  2. Reflection By: Brooke Wittenberg

  3. Reflection • Reflection is when a wave hits a object that the wave cannot pass through, then it bounces back at an equal and opposite angle. • A everyday example of reflection is, when it is a cold winter day and the sun hits the snow and reflects back.

  4. Reflection The sunlight hits the water and some of the sunlight cannot pass through the water, so it reflects back.

  5. Diffraction Waves! By: London Christian

  6. The News About Diffraction!!! • diffraction is the bending of waves around obstacles • When a waves passes a barrier or moves through a hole in a barrier , it bends and then spreads out. • Due to diffraction, the shadow of an opaque object is not sharp, but has fringes at its edge, if it is examined in sufficient detail.

  7. Excellent Examples!!! This animation shows the hole in the barrier and the way the waves go through the hole causing them to spread out.

  8. Refraction By: Meagan Kuniega 7th period

  9. Information Refraction- the bending of waves due to a change in speed When a wave moves from one substance to another at an angle, it changes speed (on either side at one point) which causes it to bend Examples: -light passing from glass to air -putting a straw into a cup

  10. Interference By: Kelsey Ansec7period

  11. Constructive and Destructive • There are two different kinds of interference, constructive and destructive interference. • Constructive interference occurs when two waves combine to make a wave with larger amplitude. • When the amplitude of two waves combine with each other producing a smaller amplitude the result is destructive interference.
