Anti-friction Coatings Antifriction coating – Solid Lubricating Block solves challenges unconventionally related to the protection of friction surfaces Antifriction Coating theorises the word as it protects the surface where there is metal to metal contact from friction. It is a special formulation of dry lubricant in block form incorporating various solid lubricants such as Moly, Graphite, PTFE etc. using a proprietary resin binder system. It also blends with additives to enhance its properties. Solid lubricants are used to give them a good load carrying, high-temperature stability, low coefficient of friction under high loads, good sliding friction reduction and additives are added to improve necessary properties or give them new properties as per the requirement of the application. Antifriction can be easily applied by brush, dip & Spraying. Aerosol form antifriction can be used where there is complex machinery /hard to reach areas. The surface should be cleaned efficiently before applying the antifriction coating, to increase the adhesion. The surface could be pre-treated by phosphating, sandblasting & anodizing will increase the adhesion and service life of the coating. After application coating requires curing to bind the lubricant to the surface of metals. Antifriction coating increases lubrication interval, provides clean lubrication, rust prevention & corrosion protection, chemical resistance and provides lubrication for a longer time frame thus reducing maintenance downtime and increasing productivity. In case of cleanroom conditions, Low friction coatings have proved their efficiency since it eliminates the need of wet lubrication thus reducing the contamination.
