Da rienda suelta a su enojo. • 1. This does not refer to the individual that gets angry for a legitimate reason (even Jesus got angry, Mk. 3:5), but the person that has no control over his anger. He gives free reign to it.

Drunkards, gluttons, lazy. “Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat… drowsiness will clothe a man with rags,” Prov. 23:20, 21

Las tres cosas se encuentran juntas… describen la vida de una persona carnal, sin dominio propio, sin ambición sana… que está cometiendo suicidio lento. • 1. No fuma, no toma, no usa drogas, no come con exceso, es industrioso; por eso no tiene nada en común con estas tres cosas. • 2. The Christian takes care of his body (1 Cor. 6:19). He does not smoke, drink, use drugs, overeat, is industrious; therefore, he has nothing in common with these three things.

Los que enseñan caminos pecaminosos. “Hijo mío, deja de atender la enseñanza que te hace desviar de las palabras del conocimiento”, Prov. 19:27. • D. Those that teach sinful ways. “Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causes you to err from the words of knowledge, “Prov. 19:27.

Por el peligro de sufrir daño y aun destruirse... “El que anda con sabios, sabio será; pero el que se junta con necios será quebrantado”, Prov. 13:20. • B. Because of the danger of getting hurt and even being destroyed… “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed,” Prov. 13:20.

38. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • Hay consecuencias pesadas en esta vida. Fumar, tomar, usar drogas, pelear, robar – hay que sufrir las consecuencias. • There are heavy consequences in this life. Smoke, drink, use drugs, fight, rob – must suffer the consequences.

Para no avergonzar a sus padres. “El que guarda la ley es hijo inteligente, pero el que se junta con glotones avergüenza a su padre,” Prov. 28:7. • C. To avoid bringing shame to parents. “Whoever keeps the law is a discerning son, But a companion of gluttons shames his father,” Prov. 28:7.

40. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • Aléjense de los que se alejan de Dios. Apártense de los que se apartan de Dios. Sean compañeros de los que aman y sirven a Dios. • Distance yourself from those who distance themselves from God. Separate yourself from those who separate themselves from God. Be companions of those who love and serve God.

41. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • IV. Escoger amigos buenos. A. Aquellos que temen a Dios. “Compa-ñero soy yo de todos los que te temen y guardan tus ordenanzas,” Salmo 119:63. • IV. Choose good friends. A. Those who fear God. “I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts,” Psalm 119:63.

Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • A veces parece que algunos hermanos dicen, “Primero que todo, soy compañero de mi familia, aunque inconversa, y luego de los que temen a Dios.” • At times it seems that some brethren say, “First of all, I am a compañion of my family, even though unconverted, and then of those who fear God.”

Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • Si los miembros de la iglesia forman lazos muy fuertes con familiares inconversos, están en peligro de dar prioridad a ellos y aun caer bajo su influencia mundana. • If the members of the church form very strong ties with unconverted relatives, they are in danger of giving them priority, and even of falling under their worldly influence.

Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • Mat. 10:37, “El que ama a padre o a madre más que a mí no es digno de mí, y el que ama a hijo o a hija más que a mí no es digno de mí”. ¿No asistir el domingo en ninguna parte para poder estar con ellos? Mat 6:33? • Matt. 10:37, “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Not attend anywhere on Sunday in order to be with them? Mt. 6:33?

45. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • Seamos amigos de los hijos de Dios. Buscar su compañerismo para la obra del Señor, para actividades sociales, la diversión, en todo. Estaremos con ellos en el cielo. • Let’s be friends of the children of God. Seek their companionship in the work of the Lord, in social activities, diversion, in everything. We will be with them in heaven.

46. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • “Los amigos te saludan. Saluda tú a los amigos, a cada uno por nombre”, 3 Juan 14. Al decir “amigos” Juan habla de los hermanos en Cristo. • “The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name,” 3 John 14. When John says “friends” he means brethren in Christ.

50. Escoger buenos amigos Choose good friends • A. No olvidarlos. Prov. 27:10, “No abandones a tu amigo ni al amigo de tu padre”. Esto se refiere a los amigos de años, bien conocidos y estimados. • A. Not forget them. Prov. 27:10, “Do not forsake your own friend or your father's friend.” This refers to longtime friends, well known and appreciated.
