  3. Where are We Going? Alexandria, Minnesota About an hour NW of St. Cloud on the I-94

  4. Who is Going? • 6-7th Graders from CCS Blaine and adults

  5. What are our Goals? • increase appreciation for, understanding of, and worship to God, the Creator. • become more aware of the workings of creation in the spring months. • become more aware of their responsibility as stewards of creation. • cooperate in learning new skills and subject matter. • cooperate in living arrangements and responsibilities.

  6. What are our Goals? • recognize, appreciate, and tolerate people's individual differences. • reflect on their own individual skills, abilities, and personalities in a quiet setting. • experience a more simplified lifestyle. • integrate ideas learned in many areas of education. • develop mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

  7. What are our Expectations? • To ensure a positive experience we put a major emphasis on the care and respect for • Self • Others • Facilities and equipment • Creation • God

  8. What are our Expectations? • CCS dress code and behavior guidelines as outlined in the CCS handbook still apply. • Any major violations of CCS rules will result in the parents picking up their child to take home at their own expense. • All students are required to complete the journaling assignments that coincide with the various lessons they attend.

  9. What should the students bring? • Review the packing list

  10. What should they not bring? • Radios, electronic games, iPod, cell phone, or other electronic devices • gum, candy, snacks, pop • matches or lighters • hair dryers and curling irons

  11. What about medications? • Please complete the required medical form(s) • Maygann will be responsible for administering medications • contact Maygann or Lois Marra if questions • Send medications and or the information before the morning of the trip. • Please label all medications with: • Child's name • Name of medication • Reason for taking • Dosage and time to be given

  12. What about medications? • Mark if medication should be refrigerated. • Non-routine medication: please note symptoms or indications for use. • Medications will be kept and dispensed by Mrs. McCarthy-Vogel or an adult in the student's cabin. • Vitamins and Tylenol, for example should not be kept by students. • Students will carry their inhalers, but you will send the information for them.

What will the schedule be? • 7:30 a.m. Wake up. • 8:30 a.m. Breakfast. • 9:15-12:00 a.m. Study Sessions • 12:15 Noon Lunch • 1:00-4:30 p.m. Study Sessions • 4:30-5:30 p.m. Recreation. • 5:30 p.m. Dinner • 7:00-9:00 p.m. Evening Program and Devotions • 9:30 p.m. Snacks in the dining hall • 10:00 p.m. Cabin Time (10:30 - LIGHTS OUT!)
