  1. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” President Debbie Faires welcomed everyone and introduced Mr. Michael Coffey, Assistant Superintendent-Administrative Services. Mr. Coffey performed the installation ceremony for the MEPA 2008-2009 Installation of Officers. Paula Lambright is currently his Senior Assistant and has been for the past seven years.

  2. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” The theme for 2008-2009 is "You are an Essential Piece" and the logo is four puzzle pieces. Each board member was called upon to add a puzzle piece, representing their office, to the MEPA picture. As the puzzle was completed, Mr. Coffey flipped the picture frame over showing the MEPA official logo and said, “MEPA is only complete when all of our pieces are inter-locked in place. As always the MEPA picture is complete and clear."

  3. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Outgoing President Debbie Faires presented the new 2008-2009 MEPA President Paula Lambright with her President's Pin and gavel. Debbie Faires was presented with a western clock engraved with her name, year of service and her theme, "Walking with Integrity."

  4. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Your new officers for 2008-2009 are President-Paula Lambright, President Elect-Dianne Lemons, 1st Vice President Programs-Jennifer Lamb, 2nd Vice President Membership-Paula Hutchinson, Secretary-Sherry McCulloch, Treasurer-Diane Hogg, Historian-Nancy Beene and Parliamentarian-Debbie Faires. A special thank you to Dr. Henrie for taking the time out of her busy schedule to attend the installation.

  5. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Lawrence Elementary paras were unable to attend our August Kick-off meeting due to a special staff development their principal had planned. Jodie Mannlin, liaison for Lawrence, arranged a MEPA Get-Together on campus the day after our Kick-off meeting. Utilizing this year's MEPA puzzle theme, they incorporated a "Get To Know You" type game. They reached into a bag (they are the Lawrence Leopards ~ thus the spotted bag) to retrieve two different puzzle pieces which had been laminated together. Each para then found the other para with the corresponding colors of conjoined puzzle pieces. They proceeded to either get to know their two new paras or discover something new about a returning para.

  6. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” They took ten minutes from their busy afternoon to receive MEPA membership forms, the August newsletters, and information about MEPA. They enjoyed colorful cupcakes with a puzzle-shape on top filled with sprinkles.

  7. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Everyone left with a puzzle picture frame (colored felt on front, a magnetized back) as a parting gift. Thank you, Jodie, for being such an "Essential Piece" to MEPA and always finding creative ways to complete the MEPA picture!

  8. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Our speaker, Mr. Perry Eaton, was a huge hit at our MEPA meeting on Monday, September 22 at Poteet High School. He made us laugh, cry and beg for candy! His voice was as sweet as the candy he threw into the audience. Some of you have requested the name of the song he sang. The song was, "Find Your Wings," originally performed by Mark Harris. The message Mr. Eaton brought touched all of our hearts. The Board and I hope each of you enjoyed having him as much as we did.

  9. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Your STEM Consultants were in Austin October 10-12 for their annual STEM Consultant Training. Assertiveness Training was the featured class for new consultants in training. Below, is Jana Worthington, she was the instructor. Thirteen new consultants are preparing to do a presentation on the difference in assertiveness and aggression.

  10. Committees Members MISD Board MEPA 2008-2009 Youarean “EssentialPiece!” Dianne Lemons, TESA STEM Chairman and MEPA President Elect, opened the general session with a PowerPoint slideshow on the differences in people. Below is one of our Mesquite seasoned STEM consultants.
