  3. Signs and Symptoms • Pain in thigh • ↓ flexion • ↓ extension • Inflammation • Ecchymosis • Hard mass if myositis ossifican

  4. Case • Male rugby player • Position: Flanker • Hit multiple times in the thigh over a 3-4 week period. Had painful bruise but just noticed that it is beginning to harden

  5. Modalities • Continuous ultrasound • Massage • Heat • Ice

  6. Protective Equipment • Compression Wrap • Thigh pad * Radiograph
