  2. American Tortoise Rescue offers information is related to various ways of taking good care of different kinds of turtles and tortoises - like the Sulcata tortoise, the Box Turtle, etc. In this article, we will be discussing feeding related information. There are six surfaces that are fine or not good for feeding turtles and tortoises. http://www.tortoise.com

  3. 1. Grass surface – Small tortoises (like baby Sulcata tortoises) find it difficult to eat tougher grasses. But you can feed a tortoise from a grass surface. 2. Flat rock – Flat rocks are convenient tools for feeding turtles and tortoises. http://www.tortoise.com

  4. 3. Concrete – You can feed a tortoise from a concrete surface too. Just make sure that the concrete surface is completely flat (without any sharp areas on it) and clean. 4. Tray – Trays can also be used for feeding tortoises or turtles. Use well-cleaned trays without raised edges. http://www.tortoise.com

  5. 5. Surface having gravel – Do not feed a tortoise from a surface having gravel. Rock fragments might get eaten by a tortoise / turtle along with food. 6. Dirty surfaces - Do not feed a tortoise from a dirt surface. Always feed them from clean surfaces because it is likely that they will eat dirt along with the food. http://www.tortoise.com
