Why i love huron crew l.jpg
Why I love Huron Crew

  • Rowing is a great way to get into, and stay in shape.

  • There are no cuts.  Though participation in certain events is limited to select boats, everyone contributes to the team. Everyone participates in competition.

  • Rowing offers parents a great way to get connected with their kids

  • Rowers develop a strong, supportive network of friends.

  • Academics are a priority for coaches and the parent board.  In fact, more than half of the team are Scholar Athletes, with better than 3.2 GPA.

  • We have, in my opinion, the best coaching staff in the region.  Not only are they outstanding teachers and motivators, they are also adept at working with rowers and families to resolve conflicting commitments, like band, scouts, etc.

  • Scholarships are available for students that cannot afford dues.  The parent board is determined to make rowing available to every student that wants to participate.

  • We have a parent organization that is fully committed to ensuring a safe, fun, affordable and rewarding experience for every rower.
