  2. Unlike conventional small molecules, enzymes are usually produced in cultures of living cells. Enzyme manufacturing combines various fields of science, such as microbiology, biochemistry, and engineering. Because of its high efficiency and high selectivity in the catalytic process, enzyme products are used in all walks of life, and the prospects for enzyme production are very broad. Industrial enzyme production can provide higher purity products and proper modification of natural enzymes in the production process can improve their thermal stability, pH stability and organic solvent tolerance.   3. Functions of proteinase K Proteinase K, purified from Tritirachium album Limber, is a highly active protease used for the general degradation of proteins in biological samples. Since proteinase K is stable in urea and SDS and has the ability to degrade natural proteins, it is widely used. For example, it can be used in preparation of chromosomal DNA for pulse electrophoresis and removal of nucleases in DNA and RNA preparation. The industrially produced proteinase K is generally a mutant of a native protease with higher efficiency and a broader pH and temperature range while maintaining optimal activity.   4. Application of proteinase K in beauty and cosmetics industry Proteinase K and its mutants can be used in the cosmetic and cosmetic industries to remove aged keratinocytes. The use of cultured artificial skin 3D model has been used to verify the use of proteinase K in removing skin aging stratum corneum cells, restoring skin tenderness and luster, and showing that proteinase K has high safety and can be selectively selected as needed. The aging cuticle is removed, leaving part of the stratum corneum and all the basal layer without damaging the remaining skin epidermis and dermis. In addition, studies have also verified that proteinase K treatment does not induce the production of the cytokine IL-1α in the range of experimental doses, indicating that proteinase K has no stimulating effect on living cells in the cultured artificial skin 3D model, but only removes dead cells from the epidermis.   5. Application of proteinase K in biology Proteinase K has important applications in the field of biology. Proteinase K is commonly used in molecular biology to remove protein contamination from highly natural undamaged nucleic acid formulations because it inactivates nucleases quickly and efficiently to prevent degradation of DNA or RNA. This degradation is often difficult to stop even in the presence of denaturing reagents.
