  3. Did you invite Pam to visit us? • We studied vowel sounds in syllables that end with silent e. • Read this sentence to yourself. Raise your hand when you know which word has a long vowel sound. • What long vowel sound do you hear in the second syllable? • How do you know that i stands for its long sound? Do you want to sit beside Ken?
