  4. Interconnected – Abandoned Baby / Unlawful Pregnancy / Poverty?

  5. State why it is a problem • Government’s concerns on social problems: • Increasing rate of social problems • Community’s unconsciousness • Lack of support from wider communities • Lack of knowledge/understanding • Eg. effects of taking drugs, abortion • Lack of family support

  6. Explain how it happens? • Lack of education (religious) • Family separation eg. divorce • Peer group • Lack of promotion/communication • Non alignment • Enforcement agencies (- not focused) • Unemployment • Cultural Shocks (through globalization, internet, media, concerts)

  7. Identify what would have to change to make an impact on problem • Strong law enforcements • Eg. coordination/collaboration, transparency, free of airing views/forums, booklets etc • Roadshows to all of communities, schools • Role of community leaders • Role of Media eg. TV, News, Press • National Committee to be formed (non-focus), District level • Review of legislations eg. punishments • Ministry of Education - curriculum

Report on what has been done to address the problem • Formation of National Committee/District Committee/NGOs • Forums/Seminars/Roadshows • Sermons • Competition in schools/NGOs • Promotion through Medias/Billboards • Rehabilitation Centres (Pusat Bahagia Pulaie, Rumah Al-Islah,) • Counselling (Education and Civil Service Department) • Law Enforcement/Police (including Military Martial Court for Armed Forces members)

  11. Make a case for any changes that the group feels are needed • Study Tour to neighbouring countries • NGOs full commitments • Budget • Community Leaders and Consultative Councils • Neighbourhood Crime Watch Scheme to be improved and better coordinated with Community Leaders (also have insurance coverage and compensation for committees) • Monetary incentive allowances for initiator
