  1. Are You Spending Enough Money On Your Websites Maintenance WordPress is at its heart, a Content Management System and many website owners flock to it owing to the incredible ease it offers in terms of managing the live website i.e. ease of updating content, changing images, bringing in plugins to optimize and improve every aspect etc. But what website owners often ignore is the fact the WordPress maintenance on the backend requires far more effort and resources than you initially thought of. Otherwise, you will see your website experience extremely frustrating slow speeds, multiple security issues, and a lot of instances of downtime among others. WordPress is basically free to start off with as it’s an open source software. To just get the site live, you only need two things i.e. web hosting and a domain name. Together, both of these things, on a very basic level, wouldn’t cost you more than a $100.

  2. With these two things, you will have a live site, but is this enough? Not quite. As you still have to spend on three major components to ensure that your site remains performing exceptionally well. These three things are: 1.Website Backups 2.Website Security 3.Website Core & Plugin Updates Why? Let’s explain things in a bit more detail: Website Backups are incredibly important in case something goes wrong. And you can’t do with just one copy either. Backups need to be stored on either cloud storage services like AWS or on an offline storage server or both to ensure that you have enough copies of your website. On top of this, you will require the services of an expert developer to do the backups for you regularly. Security is essential to any modern day website and the same holds true for WordPress based ones as well. Website security has two major components i.e. monitoring and preventive measures. If you don’t do these often or on an expert level, then it will be a lot easier for a hacker to enter through. WordPress release core updates every now and then. These updates contain important feature upgrades to things like security, UX design, backend resources etc. While there is an option offered by Wordpress admin panel to update this core automatically, this can seriously go wrong if you don’t have any prior experience, so you need a pro to handle this every single time you do an update. So what is the cost of doing all of this and also not doing all of this? Well the cost of not doing all of these required actions can be immense if disaster strikes. Whether you have an issue during a core update or a hacker attempts a

  3. malware attempt on your site, consider everything fully or partially gone. In this scenario, it’s only a matter of time till disaster strikes. The second option i.e. doing all of this can either be done through two methods i.e. either by yourself or by hiring Wordpress maintenance services. Doing this yourself will require a significant amount of investment in terms of time on your end in order to learn everything about updates, plugin installation, different coding languages, extensive knowledge of development troubleshooting among others. Outsourcing this to a WordPress maintenance service provider will depend on the plan you acquire from them. For more agile plans that include aggressive maintenance with a high frequency of actions, the cost can be around $400- $1000/month. For basic level maintenance plans, the cost starts from $100- $300/month. This might seem like to be significant investment, but without it, you will ending losing a lot more in case there is an issue that you were not prepared for.
