At InfUSion Magazine, we strive to be the University of Georgia’s most accurate, reliable and reputable source of in-depth news. And that begins with you. You play an important role in making sure our product is best.

InfUSion Magazinestarted in 1989 as Kross Cultures Magazine. Today, we’re the second largest print publication that serves the UGA community. We plan to keep on growing--and we hope you’ll grow with us.

At InfUSion Magazine, we pride ourselves on being a great student organization for students to participate. And we work together as a team to ensure that characterization holds true.

I encourage you to use this handbook to learn what to expect from InfUSion Magazine, what InfUSion Magazine expects from you, and how you can better our organization. If you need more information, just ask your sectional editor or director or the human resources director.

Feel free to ask questions. We want you to be comfortable working with us, beginning on your very first day.

HANDBOOK 7

Ethical or Unethical?

You’re a advertising & marketing department staff member. One of the advertisers you’ve secured has just become the topic of one of the stories in the news department due to a scandal. The advertiser asks you to persuade the news editor into not running the story. You do and the story is removed.

UNETHICAL

HANDBOOK 7

Ethical or Unethical?

You’re a news beat writer covering the SGA election. You don’t like one particular party due to rumors you’ve heard, and decide to write a story critical of their platform. In the story, you attain credible sources and conduct real interviews but only find interviewees that share your belief.

UNETHICAL

HANDBOOK 7

Ethical or Unethical?

You’re a sports department staff member. A UGA football player lobbying for playing time offers to pay you $100 to write a column insisting that he starts. You don’t.
