  5. Evidence Based Practice • The “integration of best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient/ family values to facilitate clinical decision making.” (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2011).

  6. Quality Improvement • Project that focuses on primarily improving patient care within a given care environment. • The outcome may not be generalizable to other patient care environments.

  9. Research Fellowship • Work together with statistician and team to develop appropriate hypotheses. • Development of submission to UPMC IRB for approval. • Begin research study.
