  1. Welcome toEye Care Surgical Ltd Types of Retinal Disease

  2. Introduction There are many different retinal disorders, the majority have visual symptoms. Retinal diseases can affect any portion of the retina, a thin layer of tissue on the inner back wall of the eye. The retina contains millions of rods, cones, and other nerve cells that collect and arrange visual data. Because your retina sends this information to your brain via your optic nerve, you can see. In this PPT, we are going to discuss the type of retinal disease. Let's read it out:

  3. Epiretinal Membrane The retina is protected by a thin membrane or scar called the epiretinal membrane, which resembles crumpled cellophane. Your eyesight is distorted as a result of this membrane pulling up on your retina. Things could look distorted or blurry.

  4. Retinopathy Damage to the blood vessels in the back of the eye, which results in fluid leakage, causes retinopathy. This fluid buildup may have an impact on the retina and alter vision. Retinopathy can be brought on by cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.

  5. Retinitis Inflammation of the retina is referred to as retinal retinitis. In most cases, bacteria and viruses are to blame. For instance, retinitis can be brought on by Lyme disease, syphilis, and Dengue fever. This illness may also be brought on by autoimmune diseases including lupus and Behçet's disease.

  6. Retinal Detachment When your retina is dragged away from its natural position at the back of your eye, it is known as retinal detachment. If you have diabetic retinopathy or are very near-sighted, you may be more susceptible to this problem. Increased floaters, light flashes, or a shadow in your field of vision are a few early signs of the condition. The condition of retinal detachment is a medical emergency that has to be treated right away.
