  • There color is carapace brown or gray with 3 knobby ridges.

  • The head is large with a strongly hooked beak; and rather long tail.

  • Its said to be more sedentary than its relative the snapping turtle, and is larger than the snapping turtle.

The turtle’s habitat includes lakes sloughs and deep rivers.

They can only be found in North America and in the southern eastern tip.

This hefty reptile feeds on worms and other kinds of turtle.

When catching food it wiggling its worm like to tongue to lure in the bait.
