  1. Classic Pancake Recipe Pancakes are a beloved breakfast classic, loved by people of all ages. These fluffy, golden brown discs of deliciousness are easy to make and can be customized to suit your taste. In this recipe, I'll walk you through the steps to create the perfect pancakes that will have your family and friends coming back for more. Ingredients ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature) 1/4 cup milk (room temperature) 1 large egg 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Cooking spray or additional melted butter for the pan Equipment ● ● ● ● ● ● Large mixing bowl Whisk Griddle or non-stick skillet Spatula Ladle or large spoon Measuring cups and spoons

  2. Instructions 1. Preheat the Griddle or Skillet Start by preheating your griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. If you're using an electric griddle, set it to 350°F (175°C). If you're using a stovetop skillet, wait until it's hot enough to make a few drops of water sizzle on the surface. 2. Mix the Dry Ingredients In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Use a whisk to thoroughly blend these dry ingredients. 3. Combine the Wet Ingredients In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Make sure the wet ingredients are well combined. 4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir everything together gently, being careful not to overmix. A few lumps in the batter are perfectly fine; they will disappear when cooking. 5. Grease the Griddle or Skillet Lightly grease the preheated griddle or skillet with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter. This will prevent the pancakes from sticking. 6. Pour the Batter Using a ladle or large spoon, pour approximately 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Leave enough space between them to avoid crowding. 7. Cook the Pancakes

  3. Cook the pancakes until you see bubbles forming on the surface and the edges start to look set. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes. 8. Flip the Pancakes Carefully flip each pancake with a spatula when the underside is golden brown. Cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes or until it's also golden brown. 9. Keep Warm As you finish cooking each pancake, transfer them to a warm oven (set to a low temperature) or cover them with a clean kitchen towel to keep them warm while you finish the batch. 10. Serve and Enjoy Serve your pancakes hot with your choice of toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or chocolate chips. Get creative and make them your own! Check out: Mary Berry Blueberry Loaf Cake ● Tips ● ● Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough pancakes. For extra flavor, consider adding ingredients like blueberries, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts to the batter. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent the pancakes from burning. You may need to lower the heat slightly after the first batch. If you don't have buttermilk, you can make a substitute by adding 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for a few minutes before using. Leftover pancakes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated in the toaster or microwave. ● ● ● Now you're all set to make a stack of delicious pancakes that will impress your family and friends. Enjoy your homemade breakfast treat!
