  3. GRE/ GMAT – Be one of the smart ones who start their application process 9 – 12 months before they apply. Since your test score is a detrimental and crucial factor of your application, start with your GMAT or GRE prep. A successful GMAT test takes about 100 hours of study and practice so start not tomorrow, not next month but now!

  4. Also the English language proficiency tests such as TOEFLS and IELTS can add another couple of months to your test prep calendar. Keeping these factors in mind, end of spring is the ideal time to prepare and take your tests for MBA admission in USA. This way you have a window of opportunity to take a retest, in case your scores are way lower than your expectations.

  5. Research and Reflect – Instead of throwing darts at a list of random schools, it is suggested that you look for school which is in alignment with your goals and aspirations. Study abroad consultants, EdElevate, helps you to research, reflect and then form a preliminary list of your preferred schools.

  6. Work on your essays and resumes – Long essays, short essays, scripts, resumes, the list is indeed long. This is the right time to work on these and tick them off your check list. Writing, rewriting, critical analysis and editing of essays is a time consuming activity and therefore if it is left to last minute, the results can be devastating.

  7. In the same way, a resume for a business school must be prepared and adapted with utmost care and caution. You must get at least 95% of it done now and leave scope for any developments for later. Sort out your recommendations and weigh the pros and cons of all the various options.

  8. Be well informed – One of the best ways to enhance your knowledge is by reading books, journals and company reports. Have an all rounded and well informed perspective of your goals and ambitions. Also you can use this time to develop your leadership skills and experiences.
