1. Midwife Farsi Speaking The birth of a child is an exciting time for both new parents and those parents who have previously been through childbirth before. The process is painful and can be grueling, pushing the mothers to extremes in testing their patience, tolerance, strength, and endurance while having numerous physical, emotional, mental, and psychological challenges on their paths from labour to delivery. In almost all cases, however, the end result is rewarding and overshadows the hardships. At Downtown Midwifery Practice, we provide complete care from start to finish for both mothers and babies. We work with expectant mothers to answer their questions and concerns, assess their health and provide medical advice, provide prenatal care, post pregnancy care, and assist in the incredible process of childbirth. We work with all types of women and families with different backgrounds and from all walks of life, to help them through the stages of pregnancy, labour, and delivery, and all the way to postpartum care for both mothers and newborns. Our efficient midwives work to provide our patients with consistent and quality care and are available around the clock. We also offer midwife services in Farsi. It is important to choose a midwifery service that will understand you, your needs and expectations and someone who will work comprehensively with you throughout the whole process of pregnancy and delivery. Our midwives will also work with medical teams of doctors, nurses, and specialists to provide service and care if required. Midwifery care services can be utilized in our clinic, at home for the labour and birth, as well as at the hospital. 2. the labour process, our midwives work hands-on by using different positions, active and practical measures of both comfort and emotional support to try to reduce or eliminate the need to take drugs for pain relief. However, we support a woman’s choice of pain relief options during labour. Where required, specialist medical intervention is necessary and will be called in. Our midwives consult with obstetricians, pediatricians, gynecologists, and other specialists if any situations arise that fall outside of the midwife’s scope of midwifery practice. Midwives have clear indications for when to consult and when to transfer care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, as set out by the College of Midwives in BC. We also offer midwife services in Farsi for our non-English speaking patients.
