  1. How to Find the Best Airplane Parts When you’re looking to update or repair your planes, it’s likely that you’re looking for the very best items. This is not always the easiest process, and you want to know that you’re doing it right. Planes are large, and it can be very dangerous (and deadly) if something goes wrong because of a faulty part. If you’re in the market to get some new parts for a plane, then you want to be sure that you do things in the right fashion. How can you know that you’re getting the best parts for your money and that you are going to be able to repair your plane? Here are some tips you can use in order to ensure that you get the best parts for your plane, every time you go shopping. Always Check The Brand In the United States, we have something called “Parts Manufacturer Approval.” This is a special certification from the FAA (Federal Aviation Association) that says that these manufacturers can make parts for the aircraft. Many times, this is meant for part manufacturing companies that aren’t necessarily the initial manufacturer of an aircraft (for example, if you’re getting Boeing parts from a brand that’s not Boeing itself). If they have this level of approval from the FAA, then you know that they’re legitimate and that their parts can be trusted. Overhauled Or Not? Have you ever bought a refurbished computer? In these cases, the manufacturer gets the computer back into their possession and they clean it up, make any repairs that need to be made, and ensure that it’s as good as the day it was manufactured. Then, they sell it for a reduced price. Overhauling is, essentially, the same process, but for plane parts. Overhauls have specific guidelines that need to be met by federal law and manufacturer guidelines. The overhauler will take the entire component apart, clean it out, inspect it for anything that may be wrong, make necessary repairs, and then rebuild it. These parts often end up cheaper, but they are just as safe and reliable due to the processes involved. Buy from a Reputable Source If you don’t buy directly from the manufacturer themselves, be sure that you are going to buy from a reputable parts seller. You want be sure that your actuators and fuel selector valves are genuine. And, if you go with overhauled options, be sure that they are certified by the correct organizations and that they are certified for the parts that you are buying. Do a little background research to start with and you’ll be a lot better off. Whether you’re getting landing gear or pumps, you want to stick to this list and get the resources you need to ensure that you have the right parts and don’t miss out on anything. See what you’re able to find and learn as much as possible. When all is said and done, you can find great parts, know that your
