  1. LCLS Undulator Collaboration Meeting • Safety Minute(s) • Undulator Week • People • Schedule • Budget Geoff Pile

  2. Safety • Integrated Safety Management (ISM) We are experienced and good at doing it - everyone is involved • Don’t take it for granted that someone else is doing it • Almost any incident will affect schedule one way or another • ISM 5 core functions (and there’s 7 guiding principles) • 1. Define the Scope • 2. Analyze Hazards • 3. Develop & Implement the Controls • 4. Perform the work within the controls • 5. Feed Back and improvement (on the scope)

  3. Safety • Two weeks ago – We talked about ISM at the ANL/LCLS regular group meeting • We discussed the work & the areas where it was being performed • We discussed the supervisory roles and line management responsibilities for planning work & doing inspections • We discussed the five core functions and what was applicable to our areas • Before new work in LTT started we had an issue with a janitorial exercise just a few days after discussions • Never underestimate what could go wrong! • We need to discuss and plan the safety aspects of assembly and installation as we go through this week

  4. Undulator Week • Agenda • Breakouts are really important – don’t attend scheduled talks for the sake of it. • Wednesday – Controls guys may breakout during Mechanical talks • Thursday – Mechanical guys should breakout and create issues list. BLM review with Controls and Diagnostics guys goes until early afternoon Undulator Week Close Out - Go over issues list with ALL before we break up. • View graphs • Should be minimal – this isn’t a Lehhman review (so why did I do this?) • Why do we have this week – face to face communication really resolves issues! • Next one in Early May? • I think it makes sense to do it here at SLAC again

  5. People – with weekly interactions • Dave Schultz Geoff Pile • Jose Chan Bill Berg (Integration) • Carl Rago Dean Walters • Don Schaefer Leonard Morrison • HD Nuhn Marion White • Richard M Boyce Emil Trakhtenberg • Arturo Alarcon Josh Stein • Zac Wolf Isaac Vasserman • Catherine LeCoq Horst Friedsam • Steve Smith Bob Lill • Tim Montagne Mark Jaski • Venkat Srinivasan Jim Baily • Franz Peters Jim Morgan • Georg Gassner Tony Petryla (Controls) • Eric Lundahl Greg Weimerslage • Ben Poling Mike Merritt • Bob Fuller Stan Pasky/Rich Voogd • Darren Marsh Tom Barsz/Yeldez Amer

  6. Schedule & Issues from last meeting • Some parts will be delivered later than planned • We need to Iron out delivery schedules at all WBS levels this week • Latest Estimates should be documented in every talk or breakout by the responsible technical leads. (Can use simple table for now: Master Delivery Schedule 1-17-08 gp) • Link deliveries to SLAC assembly capabilities and define optimum installation schedules
