  1. All the Types of Bone and Joint Diseases You Didn't Know Existed You can’t live without your bones and joints, so if there are any problems with them, you know it will be very difficult to function normally. It’s no wonder that bone and joint diseases are some of the most commonly diagnosed medical conditions—the human body relies on its skeletal system in many different ways! While there are many different types of bone and joint diseases, this article will look at the most common ones you should be aware of when it comes to your health and wellbeing. We’ll even include some tips on how to prevent these diseases from occurring or worsening! Let’s get started! Osteoporosis The reason that osteoporosis is so common, though it does happen to men, is because our estrogen levels decrease as we age. Less estrogen in a woman's body can lead to bone loss from a lack of vitamin D and calcium. Along with getting tested for osteoporosis, if you are found to have low bone density your doctor will most likely recommend prescription medication to help keep the bones strong while they regenerate.

  2. Rheumatoid Arthritis The joints most commonly affected by RA are in the hands, feet, knees, hips, spine (lower back), or neck. Women tend to get RA more often than men. About 1.3 million people in the United States have this disease. Women between 25-55 years old are most likely to get RA. Symptoms usually start off with stiffness in your fingers or painful joints that can wake you up at night if they bother you long enough. Osteoarthritis Osteoarthritis (OA) is characterized by age-related changes in both cartilage and bone within a joint. As people get older, the protective cartilage covering their joints may wear away. The spaces between bones that form a joint are now exposed to bone rubbing against bone, which can lead to pain, swelling, or decreased range of motion. It is important to see your doctor at Best bone and joint hospital in Coimbatore if you have these symptoms because they could be caused by another condition such as osteoporosis or gout . What is Gout disorder? Gout disorder is a form of arthritis that is caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood. The uric acid forms crystals in joints like the hands, feet, or knees, causing inflammation and excruciating pain. It can also lead to other conditions such as kidney stones or liver disease. Osteogenesis Imperfecta One of the more uncommon bone diseases is osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bones. It's caused by an abnormality in a gene that controls protein production in your body. It's often inherited from a parent, who is unaffected because they have two copies of this gene. If one copy is passed on to a child, it may be enough to trigger the disease; usually it affects both children, but not always. FOP First described in 1886, Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is a genetic disorder characterized by abnormal ossification of soft tissues. It has an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance, which means that only one copy of the defective gene is needed for a person to

  3. have this condition. This type of lysosomal storage disease is very rare with an incidence between 1 in 100,000 and 1 in 2 million. About Perthes Disease Perthes Disease is an injury to the blood vessels that supply blood to your hip joint. Symptoms are pain in your hips when you walk, stand up, or sit for a long time. This pain tends to be worse when you do these activities. Sometimes this will happen at night while you're sleeping. Younger kids with Perthes Disease often need surgery to fix it. GNE Myopathy A disease that primarily affects muscles in the arms, hands, legs, feet, toes, pelvis and tongue. GNE Myopathy is often misdiagnosed as other diseases because symptoms can be so varied. More than 95% of people with GNE Myopathy have a genetically inherited form that isn't passed on to their children but develops at some point during their lives. But there's also another type called acquired GNE Myopathy which has a similar presentation but isn't genetic. Rickets In America, rickets is mainly prevalent in vitamin D-deficient children or adolescents. The symptoms include skeletal deformities, such as curvature of the spine, bowed legs and enlarged joints; mental retardation; changes in dentition. There is also a lower risk for sudden death due to cardiovascular disease. Though not as common, adults with rickets can suffer from fatigue and muscle weakness from osteomalacia.
