  1. Abiraterone Acetate Tablet Overview Abirakast is a formulation of Abiraterone Acetate, an anti-cancer composition. It is a prescription regimen that is used in the treatment of patients diagnosed with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Moreover, this medicine is also prescribed to patients whose cancer of the prostate gland is castration-sensitive and has spread to other parts of the body.

  2. This medication works by interfering with the production of testosterone (a hormone). By doing so, it hinders the growth of most cancer cells in the body. Unlike other hormone therapies, Abiraterone does this in a different way. It also considers cancer cells that have grown out of the prostate gland. Specifically, this regimen inhibits certain enzymes present in the adrenal glands that are vital for testosterone production in the male body. Abiraterone belongs to the class of anti-androgens (drugs that block dihydrotestosterone and testosterone from bringing about their biological effects on the tumor). Abirakast (Abiraterone Acetate) is available as tablets having a strength of 250 mg. It is often prescribed in combination with other medications like prednisone (a glucocorticoid agent that suppresses the immune system) for greater effectiveness. It is advisable to follow the doctor’s prescription during administration.
