  1. An Overview of Bioinformatics Analysis Genome sequencing is presently a buzzword in healthcare. There is a growing number of individuals who are getting their genomes sequenced as a proactive measure to understand their disposition towards genetic diseases. Whole genome sequencing or Whole exome sequencing requires a lot of bioinformatics analysis to generate insights about one's genetic health. Bioinformatics in an interdisciplinary field that applied computational algorithms to biological dataset to gain insights. The analysis is a multi-step process that involves algorithm, software development, pipeline development, storage and transfer and need I say, analysis. The entire workflow typically consists of three main steps, namely quality control and grooming of data, assembly of genome and post-assembly. The process remains more or less the same for RNA seq analysis and other such tests. Volumes of data are generated from these analysis which are done exclusively on next-gen sequencing platforms alone.
