  1. Ask the common garter snake Junious M. Louis T.

  2. Introduction • Name of animal: Common Garter Snake • Scientific Name of animal: thramphissiertalis • Vertebrate or Invertebrate: vertebrate • Class of animal: reptile • Other names of animal: ribbon snake

  3. How do I know it’s you if I find a snake ? Well, if you find some random snake don’t pick it up, it could bite. I will have 1-3 lines on my back. The color of my scales will be brown, black and tan, and olive. I will weigh 5.29 Oz and my length will be 2-4 feet long. My size compared to other animals will be an overgrown feline. That’s really big!

  4. Where do you live North America? I live in Mexico and New York. My favorite place to live is grassy meadows, shallow meadows and stream banks. The most common places you can find me are parks and towns. So watch out for me when you are walking.

  5. Name: Junious M.

  6. Food Chain

  7. What is your diet and what eats you? My diet is lizards, earthworms, frogs and mice. If one of the lizards or frogs are poisonous I can still eat it. I am immune to poison. If there are at least 10 of us we can take down a pig! But we have predators. Raccoons, foxes, hawks and turtles like to eat me.

  8. I know you are a reptile and some lay eggs. So are your offspring born alive or born from eggs? My offspring are born alive, but first we have to find a partner. If we don’t find a partner we will not have babies .If we have babies in a inappropriate places our babies might die. When the babies are born they are 5-9 inches. They can live for 22 years. We mate in late spring and summer. Our babies are not cared for and have to hunt for them selves. We are an interesting type species of snakes.

  9. How do protect yourself in the wild? I can protect myself in the wild. If I’m caught I release a muggy liquid called musk. If a predator is attacking me I bite them, when my saliva gets in to there blood vanes they will be poisoned because there is poison called enzymes in my saliva. If that doesn’t work I play dead. Humans are also a threat because they will take us as pets and not feed us or not feed us the right food. The saliva is not poisons to humans. That is how I protect my self.

  10. Name: Junious M.

  11. I heard you like cold weather how cold can it be before it becomes dangers? Well, I can stand 20 degrees below zero. But if it gets any colder we will freeze to death. But that will rarely happen because we only live in north America. Is that not interesting?
