  2. Welcome Congratulations on becoming a member of the Texas State Technical College family! You are on your way to exciting new career opportunities through our hands-on, state-of the-art, technology training programs. Whether you plan to complete a certificate or associates of applied science degree, we hope that your time here is enjoyable and educational. The following slides present some basic information to help you get started.

  3. After admissions…. After completing the admissions process, you are ready to register for classes. You will meet with your faculty advisor to assist you in choosing the correct courses and review your degree plan. *Please note that you are only eligible to register once you have completed testing (if applicable) and once you have submitted documentation for receiving the bacterial meningitis vaccine (if under age 22).

  4. TSI Plan Before meeting with your advisor to register, please stop by the Admissions Office in Rm 550 to pick up your TSI Plan.

  5. Types of Classes • Traditional course – instructor led face-to-face classroom instruction • Hybrid course – instructor and student enter a partnership both inside and outside of the classroom. Typically a portion of the work is performed online with a lab portion on campus. • Distance Learning course – class takes place in a virtual classroom which means that students attend class by using a computer and the Internet. There is very little face-to-face contact between instructor and students. • Virtual Learning -- students from a remote location join live classes happening at other campuses.
