Ways of life • -Main source of food was hunting buffalo but soon there were not as many buffalo left to hunt so the plains went to growing crops • They wore buffalo skin when they haunted or other animal skins • They ate there meat raw or cooked or mixed with berries or fat • the plains life depended where they lived • They lived in tepees made up of 7 nomadic groups

  3. What makes are tribe unique • All the buffalo for tools, clothing, utensils and shelters. • Central people lived in villages made up of large round earthen houses called lodges 20-40 people fit in a lodge • Tepees were made out of buffalo

  6. geography • The geography in the plains is flat land for miles and mile. There were also grassy fields and a few hills; it was a great farming place because they just had to follow their main source of food .Buffalo was a great help to the Native Americans because there were thousands of them. When the Natives felt like they were low on the buffalo for more food. The native Americans geography let them use the Missouri river for food, drinks.

  7. Climate • The climate where the Native Americans lived there were often droughts in the Summer. Snowflakes in the winter, and sometimes tornadoes and sometimes massive hailstorms with a lot of hail

  8. Fun facts • The plains people lived in tepees so they could follow the herds of buffalo. They lived in tepees because they were easy to travel with and easy to pick up and clean • Easy to put when the buffalo moved somewhere else • The blackfootindians believed thet they came from a spirit called the old man. Other tribes have different theories of how they came to be.
