  3. Examples of Historical Pseudoscience: Phrenology • Believed that the brain is divided into many areas, each with their own specific function • Believed that one’s personality could be determined by the shape of their skull • Popular during the Victorian Era

  4. Examples of Modern Pseudoscience • Astrology/Horoscopes- Belief that celestial bodies predict of determine events on earth and/or individual people’s personalities • Crop Circles- Belief that otherworldly forces cause patterns by flattening crops • Therapeutic Touch- Belief that by putting their hands near a patient, practitioners can change someone's “energy field” to make them healthier
