  1. Welcome to Main Divide Select Southern Wines from Pegasus Bay Winery

  2. Main Divide Chardonnay 2009 A core of ripe, citrus fruit seems to intermingle with hints of stone fruits, such as nectarines, greengages and yellow plums. There are also savoury nuances, suggestive of barbequed sweet corn and grilled bacon. The latter should become more prominent over the next few years. The wine initially appears soft on the palate but gradually expands to become mouth-filling. It retains elegance and finesse with a current of minerality which flows through the wine, drawing out its length.

  3. Main Divide Riesling 2009 The wine has a delicate star-bright, lemon hue. Its bouquet and flavour suggests limes, lemons, white peaches and nectarines. There is also an underlying hint of tropical spices and lychees. It has good fruit concentration and fullness in the mouth, but it remains elegant, lithe and stylish. It has a core of minerality and crisp acidity which flows through the wine and draws out the finish.

  4. Main Divide Merlot Cabernet 2008 The wine is a deep carmine colour. The merlot grapes have given it upfront impressions of ripe, red berry fruits, such as raspberry and blackberry. It has also given a plumy, plumpness to the mid-palate. The cabernet, by contrast, has added a backbone of muscley tannins, a wild blackcurrant streak and drawn out the length. There is a zesty, dark, energy chocolate finish, which lingers after swallowing.
