  2. REVIEW 1Bloodwork basics: women Test results expirewhen there is a change of category from: Pregnant to breastfeeding or pregnant to non-breastfeeding

  3. REVIEW 2 Bloodwork basics: women The results for pregnant women must be dated duringpregnancy The results for non-breastfeedingor breastfeeding women must be completed afterpregnancy

  4. REVIEW 3Bloodwork basics: infant An infant 9 months of age and older shall have a test for anemia

  5. REVIEW 4Bloodwork basics: children A child over 12 months of age with a normalresult requires a repeat every 12 months

  6. REVIEW 5Bloodwork basics: children A below normal result requires a repeat every 6 months, until normal result is documented

  7. NEW requirement! Request blood early Request bloodwork 2 - 3 months before the bloodwork is required or expired

  8. NEW requirement! Refer to health care When requesting bloodwork, offer to refer participant to health care if they do not have a medical provider.

  9. Give a referral form for the next SCHEDULED appointment

  11. Two other ways to acquire blood • Use of a Maximo PRONTO device for Hemoglobin • Use of a Hemacue device for Hematocrit

  13. How to determine when bloodwork is due LOOK AT THE CAT/EDD H&H FIELD!!!

  18. NEW requirement! Missing blood = lab holds Place ‘lab” holds at all appointments andfollow up with the participant, until bloodwork is in ISIS.

  19. NEW requirement! Missing blood = FI restrictions If required blood is missing or expired: Single-issuefood instruments

  20. NEW requirement! Missing blood = FI restrictions Food instruments shall not be double issued, triple issued, or mailed.
