  4. Regular Verb Conjugations(Present Tense) When conjugating an “ar” verb such as “hablar” you take off the “ar” part of the verb and add the necessary substitution according to the chart. Same applies for the “er” and “ir” verbs. For example “hablar” would be : Yohablo; Túhablas; Él/Ella habla; Nosotroshablamos; Ellos/Ellashablan. This only applies for regular ar/er/ir verbs Go back ***please do not press → or ← . use the mouse only***

  15. Present Progressive The present progressive is the present tense but models something that is continued on. For example, the present tense would be : I read a book. But for present progressive it would be : I am reading a book. To make a Spanish sentence like this, the irregular verb “estar” must be used. The formula for present prgressive is : “estar” + verb + ando/endo The verb “estar” must be conjugated correctly according to the pronoun. The “-ando” and “-iendo” are depended on what type of verb is being added after “estar”. If it is an “-ar” verb, “-ando” must be used. For example, the verbhablarwould look like : hablando (hablar – ar + ando) “-iendo” is used for “-er” and “-ir” verbs. For example, the verbs comer and vivirwould look like : comiendo(comer – er + iendo) and viviendo(vivir – ir + iendo) For the verb “ir” meaning “to go” instead of using “-ando” or “-iendo” replace the whole word with “yendo”. For verbs like “leer” where if the “er” is taken away, adding “iendo” to a vowel doesn’t make sense, you change the “i” in “iendo” to a “y”. For example, the verb leer would look like : leyendo(leer – er + iendo [change the i to y]) Go back ***please do not press → or ← . use the mouse only***
