  2. My Business Plan • The area I live in needs a day care because of the amount of children in the area. • My business would not only take care of children but have different programs to teach the kids and allow them to interact with other kids their age. • My business would be located in the Lehigh Valley because according to statistics the population is steadily increasing which would mean more clients.

  3. Why is my day care better? • My day care costs slightly less than the other day cares, because it is a new business I need to gain clients, in order to expand. • My day care has tutoring programs for older children after school and engages the younger children in activities that would teach them skills they would use in the future. • My day care would also provide a nutritional program for the kids that would keep them healthy and teach them good eating habits.

  4. About My Business • Annual Starting Income: • About $60,00 • After starting up the business and expanding the income would rise. • Employ Approximately 30 People • Assigned to different age groups • Hourly Rate Ranging From $8.80- $12.20/hr • Operating Hours • 6:00 a.m. -6:30 p.m. • Monday-Friday

  5. Age Range Ratio For Center-based Care Age of Children Child: • Staff Ratio/ Maximum Group • 6 weeks - 9 months (4:1) 8 • 18 months (5:1)10 • 27 months (6:1)12 • 3 years - 5 years (10:1)20 • 6 years - 7 years (12:1) 24 • 8 years - 9 years (12:1 or 15:1) 24/30 • 10 years and older (15:1) 30

  6. My Marketing Plan • My day care is unique because we care for children of all ages and we have different programs for all age groups. • Instead of going to competitors people would come to my business because it has a slightly lower cost and we take care of the children • My target market would be working parents and single parents because they need someone to look after their child while they are at work.
