  10. Strategic Perspectives - Trends • Implementation of Aid Effectiveness Agenda: • Conference in Ghana (September 2008) and beyond • Develop further the Austrian National Action Plan • Manage increasing volumes: hope for “fresh money” • The Austrian Development Bank

Enhancing Aid Effectiveness • ADC Measures • Common instruments have been introduced and expanded • Infrastructure partnership • PIDG • EFSE • Co-financing with one ore more donors • Eligibility check as precondition for taking over management tasks for projects and programmes of the EC was finalised in spring 2008 ( Indirect Centralised Management)

Enhancing Aid Effectiveness (2) • Participation in and support of operational networks and forums: OECD-DAC, energy (EUEI, FEMA, ESMAP), Train4Dev, EUNIDA, research networks, NGO-cooperation (DECIM, Like Minded Group) • Private sector and development: Donor Committee for enterprise Development) • the Practitioners’ Network for European Development Cooperation: is an informal and open platform for European donor agencies and administrations directly involved in implementing development cooperation in the field. The goal is to harmonise, better coordinate and to be more complementary among donors, including those from new EU MS. • office sharing: maintainingexisting ones and identifying for potential new possibilities to share facilities

Indirect Centralized Management – EC) • Study/exposire visits to ADA Vienna and field offices (prepared with Slovak Aid) • Workshops on specific issues: seminar on business partnerships and development partnerships in autumn in Vienna
