  1. What is Zinc Dust Zinc Dust is a Zinc material in the form of a powder. It is a bluish-white metal with an atomic number of 30 and is found in group 12 of the periodic table. It is a reactive metal and strong reducing agent. Due to reactive nature of Zinc, it reacts with atmospheric carbon dioxide very quickly and makes a layer on the metal surface which prevent further reaction with air and water and makes the metal surface safe from rust. Zinc is denoted by the symbol Zn. Zinc Dust is also known as Zinc Powder.

  2. Properties Color:- Zinc Powder or zinc Dust comes in the form of a bluish-gray powder. Smell:- Zinc has no smell. Boiling Point:- Zinc degrees Fahrenheit. has a boiling point of 907 degrees Celsius or 1,665 Melting Point:- Zinc has a melting point of 419 degrees Celsius or 786 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. Storage and Handling Zinc should be stored in a tightly sealed container at all times and kept away from substances with which it is incompatible. These substances are water, strong acids and bases, heat, chlorinated solvents, amines and cadmium. It is also air sensitive, but stable in cool dry places.

  4. Applications Zinc, be it in its powder form or other forms, has many uses. It's mainly used in galvanizing as an anti-corrosion substance in steel in die casting of precision components in making brass in making paints in medicine and cosmetics and as micro nutrients for animals, plants and humans. Depending on the application, zinc may be in the form of zinc oxide, zinc alloy, zinc chloride, zinc carbonate, zinc phosphate and zinc chromate.
