The e-mail should include your sons name and Form class. • Students currently studying both History and a language • Letters of application • Academic attitude and discipline profile • Ballot if necessary

  23. Fundraising & Sponsorship There are two types of fundraising • Individual (e.g. wine sales) • Group (e.g. quiz night) The 2007 group raised: • $30 000 (60 students) • Approx. $500 per student

  24. Fundraising and sponsorship In 2007 we received sponsorship for • The tour shirts (3 per student) • The tour caps • The tour bags

  25. The Trust Account • Wellington College French and History Study Tour Trust • We keep a record of each student’s deposits within that account. • Payments to be made monthly by direct debit. • We pay our agents at varying times before tour. First deposit for flights is paid in May.

  26. Trust Account • $500 deposit will be paid in on Friday 11th April • From May 2008 to March 2009 you will need to make a $700 payment on the 20th of each month. • The balance would then need to be paid April 20th 2009. This amount will depend on the amount of group fundraising achieved and exchange rates. • Any excess money will be reimbursed at the end of the trip.

  27. Wine Sales Sileni Estate and Redmetal Vineyards Raffle Sausage Sizzles Car wash Any money raised from individual fundraising is put towards your monthly payments Individual Fundraising Ideas for 2009

  28. Student Involvement • Start saving! We expect students to take some ownership of the tour. They need to be contributing towards their costs. Try and save between $50 and $100 per week. • Take part in the fundraising. The more you raise the less you have to pay. • From our experience those students who have made some financial contribution towards the tour get much more out of the trip.

  29. Group Fundraising and Sponsorship We hope to raise at least $30 000 through: • Quiz night • Wine tasting and auction • Applications to trusts • Sponsorship of specific items (e.g. shirts, insurance, etc.) • Your ideas

  30. Fundraising and sponsorship for 2007 Study Tour • Please speak to Edwin West, Andrew Savage or Guy Mance if you have any contacts that could help with sponsorship.

  31. Passports • We require a copy of your son’s passport which must be valid for 2009. • If you require a new passport please apply asap as they take about 6 weeks. • We will need all passports by the middle of June. • These need to be given to Pat Smith
