Overview NCLB Public School Choice Options • Public School Choice with transportation (CWT) • NCLB Option – CWT • Supplemental Educational Services (SES) • NCLB Option – SES • Controlled Open Enrollment • Special Programs (Magnet School and Program, ABC program) Note: Choice with Transportation (CWT) is now referred to as Public School Choice (PSC); however this change in name is not reflected in any of the data formats.

  3. NCLB Public School Choice Options There are no new data elements for the 2010-2011 school year.

  4. Choice with Transportation (CWT) • Offer and provide transfer from home school to receiver school • Home school = Title I schools identified as in need of improvement, corrective action, or restructuring • Receiver school = public school

  11. Supplemental Educational Services (SES) • Title I schools not met AYP for 2+ consecutive years • Enrolled students qualifying for FRPL • Prioritization

  12. Supplemental Educational Services (SES) • Tutoring in reading/language arts, science and mathematics • Outside the regular school day • Provided by state-approved SES providers

  13. Data Reporting • Data format: Title I Supplemental Educational Services •Current data elements: District School, Student Survey Period Year SES Provider (App. T) Term SES Contact Hours – Reading/Language Arts, Math, and Science Begin Services Date Supplemental Educational Services (SES)

Supplemental Educational Services (SES) –Provider Evaluation By May 1 of each year, each supplemental educational services provider must report to the Department of Education,unless a prior agreement has been made with the local school district, in an electronic form prescribed by the department, the following information regarding services provided to public school students in the district: 1.  Student learning gains as demonstrated by mastery of applicable benchmarks or access points set forth in the Sunshine State Standards; 2.  Student attendance and completion data; 3.  Parent satisfaction survey results; 4.  School district satisfaction survey results received directly from the school district; and 5.  Satisfaction survey results received directly from the school district which were completed by principals in whose schools onsite supplemental educational services were provided.
