  4. VILA DE GRACIA • Vila de Gràcia is the oldest part of Gràcia and one of its most culturally significant areas. • The squares are social spaces with interesting stories. • Streets: are narrow and old. With old houses and quaietlies. • There are lots of tourist living here

  5. History of “Vila de gracia” • Originally was a separate town from Barcelona. It was home to textile employees. The houses are typically small and little. • Passeig de gracia connected the city of Gràcia. • The ancient zone of Gràcia is “ Vil·la de Gràcia.” Important things: • areas • Historical part • Squares • Local Parties

Local Parties in august • During the Gracia Festival the squares are home for teams of `colles castelleres` (human castles) • Streets and balconies are decorated according to a different topic. • Decorations are home-made and most of the materials used are recycled (e.g. empty water bottles & coffee capsules, which are saved all year to use during the festival). • There are catalan folklore performances at night as ”trabucaires”, or ”correfocs” .

  7. Sant Medir : religious festival In Gràcia, Sant Medir (saint Severus) is celebrated on the streets convert. Celebrations looks like street’s parties and parades with colorful floats, his members throw sweets to children. Sant Medir was an honest farmer who experienced a miracle after displaying loyalty to the Catholic Church, this day was therefore commemorated to celebrate his faith.

  8. Foguerons de Sant Antoni :Mallorca’s traditions in Gracia The verbena de Sa Pobla Mallorca each year comes to Gràcia ‘s squares ,with the lighting of bonfires (foguerons) of San Antonio . Everyone can roast sobrasada, sausages and meat in the fires back and enjoy the typical sound of music and Mallorca songs .The festival, includes.. dance, giants, drums (tambors), “Gralles,” dragons and demons, who will tour the neighborhood.

  9. TRADICIONARIUS The Tradicionàrius International Folk Festival took place 25 years ago in the Centre Artesà Tradicionarius. Different groups offer folk music rhythms and traditional songs Tradicionarius wants to make local traditional music and culture more accessible to citizens.

  10. Park Güell • The Park Güell is a garden with architectural elements of the Modernism made by Antoni Gaudi in 1900 to 1914 for the Count Eusebi Güell. The park was originally part of a commercially unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi Güell, whom the park was named after. It was inspired by the English garden city movement; hence the original English name Park. • It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘’Works of Antoni Gaudi’’

Park Güell Enter through the main entrance, observe the main entrance and the dragon of the stairs and go to the hypostyle hall, then up to the square.Then  they go to the House Guell, after the visit is directed to Calvary and, after passing the Calvary they go up to the Viewpoint and the Three Crosses.
