  1. America’s Highway: Route 66 Reception Training 9/20/2014

  2. Car • Greet guests as they come up to the stairs and welcome them to America’s Highway. • Have a digital camera that you can take a picture of the guests with if they want a picture with the car. • Please stay with the car at all times 

  3. Greeter • Greet Guests and hold open door for them as they enter into the foyer.

  4. Coat Check • Greet guest when they enter. • Welcome them to America’s Highway: Route 66. • If they want to check an item give guest in return a red bordered number • Take guests item and hang it on coat hanger that has the corresponding number.

  5. Registration • Welcome guests when they come to the table. • Assist guest in finding their registration tags, will be placed alphabetically by last name. • Try to keep a running total in your head of how many have come in, so when we come ask how many have checked in you can tell us. • Refer to the printed guests lists if needed!

  6. Welcome Center • Welcome guests if they come up to you, and say “Would you like to take a look at our itinerary for the night?” • Show guest PowerPoint if they want to see it.

  7. Passers • Hold tray in left hand and napkins in right hand. • Go around asking guests if they would like what you’re serving • 3 different areas for passing- • 1/3 near sattelite kitchen doors: Pizza • 1/3 around Keyboard/Bec station: Skewers • 1/3 near ballroom doors: Pizza • Come back to get more when you have 3-5 pieces left • Know what is in each item incase a guest asks you

  9. Hors D’ourvers • Chi Town’s Deep Dish Pizza • Mini Pizzas topped with mozzarella cheese • Allergies: Gluten and Dairy • Robust, Smooth pizza sauce, classic deep dish crust, herbal blend of seasonings.

  10. Hors D’ourvers • Grant Park’s Fresh Veggie Skewers • Cherry tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and red onion with a vinaigrette marinade • Garden-Fresh assortment, Bold-Grilled flavors, crisp and juicy

  11. Hors D’ourvers • Gene and Jude’s Street-Famous Dog • Chicago loved hot dogs served on a poppy seed bun with all of the mid-west’s favorite fixings • Allergies: Gluten • Juicy, Chicago’s Best, Authentic/Genuine

  12. Bussers • Walk around and collect trash from guests and highboys. • Don’t just take trash from a guests hands, ask if you can take their trash from them

  13. Runners • Get a tray of drinks and walk around reception area offering drinks to guests • Alternate between trays of cupped drinks and pitchers of drinks to refill cups • You will also be getting ice if the beverage station needs it or more food if the action station needs it

  14. Action Station • Wear Gloves • Greet Guests when they come to the hot dog cart. • Ask if they want a Gene and Jude’s Famous Street Dog • If yes ask if they want peppers and onions on hot dog. • If no hand them dog • Remind them there are pickles and mustard on the sides of the cart.

  15. Beverage Station • Wear Gloves • Fill cups ½ way with ice and then fill with drink • For Barbra Eden add a raspberry • For Nat King Cole add a cherry • Set cup in designated area • Greet guests when they come up and tell them what is in each drink and what it’s like.

  16. Beverages • Nat King Cole • An Herb-Infused Lemon Refresher • Freshly-squeezed and smoothly infused with rosemary • The Barbara Eden • A light, thirst quenching cherry flavored drink • Cherry-Flavored, Light, Refreshing

  17. Photo Booth • Welcome guests when they come up to you • Take pictures of the guests at the Photo Booth with props and the backdrop • Thank guests and tell them they will be posted on our website by October 4th!

  18. E-Concierge • Go around and interact with guests, ask if they “would like to see our itinerary for the night?” • Show them the PowerPoint and answer any questions they may have. • Try to talk to all guests and just inform them about the things that are happening at the dinner.
