  3. OPUS • Grant Holder: University of Zagreb, Croatia; • Structural Measure project; • Regional project (Croatia, Montenegro, FYROM, Bosnia) • Value: 929.988 Euros; • 1st time that Croatian HE institution acts as Grant Holder; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  4. OPUS Wider objective: • to strenghten education-research-innovation triangle; • to improve knowledge transfer between academic community and industry through implementing an appropriate legislative framework; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  5. OPUS Specific objectives (1): • to understand the present status of the above mentioned triangle in the national and regional context; • to define necessary measures at local, national and regional level accordingly; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  6. OPUS Specific objectives (2): • to improve entrepreneurial and managerial skills of researchers; • to develop sustainable network among universities, industry and general public; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  7. OPUS Activities carried out(1): • 3 round tables have been organized – aim: analysing the existing strategic documents in the field of research, doctoral studies and technology transfer • to improve communication between scientists and industry; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  8. OPUS Activities carried out (2): • 2 workshops have been organized - topics: 1. writing and running FP7 projects; 2. intellectual property protection; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

OPUS Activities carried out (3): • the consortium began with identification of structural and legislative measures on institutional/national/regional level, related to research, doctoral studies and technology transfer  to create new strategic documents; • a new publication is being made – aim: providing diagnostics of the present situation; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

  10. OPUS Next steps: • establishment of the Center for research, development and technology of the UniZg • to enhance technology transfer and communication between researchers and industry; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009

OPUS Assumptions and risks: • resistance of academic and business community towards structural changes – necessary on all levels; • achieving appropriate govermental support (Ministries in Croatia and Montenegro involved); • stable financial situation in partner institutions, as well as on the national level; Tempus Info day, Podgorica, December 18, 2009
