  4. DECEMBER 98 FACULTY SURVEY • 76 out of 77 Faculty Responded • 18 felt very comfortable with skill level and about incorporating technology into instruction • 9 felt very comfortable with skill level but uncomfortable about how to incorporate technology

  5. DECEMBER 98 SURVEY, CONT... • 29 felt somewhat comfortable with incorporating technology into instruction, but still need help with skills and incorporating into instruction • 16 did not feel comfortable using technology

  7. COMPENSATION • Spring 99: Lead Facilitator received 6 credits of reassigned time and a laptop computer • Fall 99: Lead Facilitator received 8 credits of reassigned time

  8. Objectives of FFT... • Hold individual and group consultations with faculty • Conduct workshops • Provide bridge for communication between faculty and computer services • Basic PC trouble-shooting • Training with equipment used during instruction

FFT ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Number of Faculty Web pages increased from 14 to 60 (Jan-May 99) • Held 20 workshops through FY 99 serving a duplicated headcount of 266 • Coordinated improvements in Smart Classrooms installed since Spring 99 • Developed and conducted First Annual Faculty Summer Institute

RECOMMENDATIONS • Facilitators must be teachers • In-office support is IMPORTANT • Visit individual divisions once or twice per semester • Meet regularly with Computer Services and Academic Administrators overseeing the project • Make sure you have adequate release time and/or compensation to do the job
