  1. Islamic Intellectual TheologyLesson 39 The Appointed Leadership “IMAAMAT” The appointment of Imam Ali (s) Part Two Did the Prophet (s) Appoint Imam Ali (as)? Edited: March 19, 2009 - BHD

  2. No one can deny HADEETH of GHADEER • The first generation is only 110 narrators • The TAWATUR continues until the 14th century • The narrators of the HADEETH of GHADEER are authenticated in other narrations of the companions and some were denied here. • Three types of indications: • Linguistic indication (QAREENA); MOULA from AWLA = Priority in authority and obedience, different meanings of WALI and MOULA are all derived from the priority.

  3. Similar to Verse of TATHEER [Shakir 5:3] Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animal) and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall and that killed by being smitten with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten, except what you slaughter, and what is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols) and that you divide by the arrows; that is a transgression.

  4. The Interrupting Statement الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلاَ تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ فِي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ {3} This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion; but whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining willfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[Shakir 33:32] O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not soft in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word.

[Shakir 33:33] And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying.

[Shakir 33:34] And keep to mind what is recited in your houses of the communications of Allah and the wisdom; surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware.

  8. Comments on HADEETH of GHADEER • The Qur’aan was spread in the narrative form in the beginning more than the written form due to illiteracy as well as practicality. • The appointment of Imam Ali (as) by the Prophet (s) happened in the same manner and when the Prophet (s) wanted to write it down there was an objection. • No one can deny HADEETH AL-GHADEER and if one does then all the Islamic practices must be denied as well because the narrations which narrate such practices are less in strength from the HADEETH of GHADEER.

  9. Appointing Imam Ali [as] Early On
