Handicap Access EC 2.2 Identify and prioritize commercial nodes and commercial street frontages suitable for storefronts and/or main street improvements Basic Infrastructure & Design Elements • Storm Drains • adjust or redesign to accommodate for adequate storm water runoff • initiate a stewardship maintenance program • Crosswalks • install Flashing Beacons to warn oncoming traffic • coordinate bus stops to match up with crosswalks • adjust traffic signals to accommodate for elderly, children, handicapped • Sidewalks • create infill where needed for better pedestrian access • Street trees and shrubs installed for curb appeal • install ramps as required by ADA

EC 3.1 Identify and develop strategy to remove barriers to small business development in East Portland • Traffic Calming/Safety • install tree islands and plant material along sidewalks • install flashing beacons on crosswalks • adjust timing of traffic signals to accommodate elderly, children, handicapped • create bicycle lane barriers, paint safe zones for cyclists • limit freight trucks to after hours use • Establish a positive police presence in the area • install roundabouts…just kidding! • Advertise expected changes in newspaper, businesses, post signage in area
