  3. ATPA The American Technology Pre-eminence Act of 1991requires all federal agencies to transfer their scientific, technical and engineering information (STEI) to the National Technical Information Service CENDI Workshop April 6, 2006

  4. Acquisitions and Archiving • Agencies encouraged to provide documents in .pdf • Automated Data Storage and Retrieval (ADSTAR) allows storage in almost any format • Majority, almost 60%, stored in .tif • Size does make a difference CENDI Workshop April 6, 2006

  5. Distribution • Customers first • Users require NTIS to be flexible in how it distributes documents • Documents are available in a variety of formats, including as pdf download from the Web CENDI Workshop April 6, 2006
