  6. To tax or not to tax? • Fundraisers and sales tax…. What we’ve learned and why some fundraisers require sales tax and others don’t • Donations (no sales tax) • Suggested donations (sales tax) • Carwashes (no sales tax) • A resale like Yankee Candles (sales tax)

  13. Passports & Emergency Contact Information • Make sure to have your passport by December 2014 and that it is good through the end of December 2015. • We will collect three color copies of your passport and a copy of your medical insurance card in the spring as the trip nears.

  14. Luggage, Cell Phones, and Debit Cards A Visa Debit Card from a local bank is the best way to access money overseas. Feel free to check out other options! Phone card or an international cell Pack LIGHT! You will be carrying this around.

Japan Tour 2015 – Schedule of meetings/events • Mar 31st, 2014 Collect Yankee Candle fundraiser and collect $40 for ropes course days @ 7pm in the MPR • June 7th, 2014 Car wash fundraiser @ Howard Hughes @ 10am-3pm • Sept. 6th, 2014 Ropes course adventure @ Paradise Ridge and fall fundraisers (Oct. Krispy Kreme's & Nov.-Dec. holiday wreathes) @ 9am-3pm • Dec. 8th, 2014 Japanese Culture Night & final rooming preferences, roles/expectations, etc. @ 7pm in the MPR • March 23rd, 2015 Japanese history and travel logistics @ 7pm in the MPR • May 18th, 2015 Pre-travel information @ 7pm in the MPR • May 30th 2015 Ropes course #2 (pre-trip) @ Paradise Ridge 9am-3pm • June TBA, 2015 Night before departure meeting. All meetings and times are subject to change and you will be notified of any changes in advance. Please remember that all travel participants, including traveling adults, are required to attend at least 85% of all team meetings.
