  1. Evaluation Question 2 By Elena May Reading

  2. Our magazine cover is striking in appearance, it draws the reader into the magazine despite the dull colours this is effect has been made deliberate in order to capture the eye the particular point of interest being the intensity of the characters eye and her overall expression. This magazine cover also makes it obvious that the main feature will be covering the review of our film, establishing a good review will cause more interest in the film – the image itself clearly gives the appearance of a thriller-esqe genre. With the constant change in peoples lifestyles, the change of how people go about reading publications changes too. Thus online reading of magazines, books and other published materials became easily accessible, if someone was unable to buy the physical copy of the magazine they could easily go online and read it there. 3. Our poster ‘challenges’ ideas about drug taking and shows us what she is seeing (this is why there are three versions of her, as if she is seeing in triple) and this is also why the two other versions of her are much brighter than she is. This idea properly represents the ideas behind our film. We would promote our film through our posters, placing them in bus stops for example and online through social media such as facebook, and pintrestto create an online presence. Poster

  4. Our Trailer is effective in promoting our film because it has a short time frame that is long enough to capture the attention of potential audiences however not give out too much away about the film. Our film is about the negative effects of drug taking, and is aimed at those most susceptible to this kind of behaviour (teenagers or young adults) the meaning of ‘Euphoria’ is supposed to be a very good feeling however it is short lived and then comes the realization of disaster. Upon doing extensive research into how films are given their ratings (restrictions on age) it would seem appropriate that we gave our film the rating of 15 the guide states that : Drug taking may be shown but the film as a whole must not promote or encourage drug misuse. The misuse of easily accessible and highly dangerous substances (for example, aerosols or solvents) is not acceptable. As our film does not promote, or glamorise drug taking it shows a fictional woman who has taken too many drugs and consequently is unable to define what is reality and what is not the rating of 15 becomes acceptable. 5. Overall our three products together make an effective promotional package to inspire interest in our film. One of the first things that we would do to promote our film is start by making an online marketing campaign via social networking utilising websites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and Pintrest to create viral interest in our film. The next thing that we would do is ask independent respected websites to review our trailer, and then have a link to the trailer so that the viewer can also see it and have their interest captured by it. We would also take our film to an independent film festival, and with any luck have good reviews from that – this would then create a buzz through local newspapers or magazines that we would not have paid for ourselves thus saving us money.
