The National Academy is the main higher educational institution with Level IV accreditation in the system for training, re-training and in-service training of public servants and local self-government officials National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua

There are 15 departments (4 in Kyiv) and 55 chairs (16 in Kyiv) at the National Academy Teaching staff includes 153 Doctors of Sciences, Professors and 203 PhDs, Associate Professors About 500 leading experts in public administration, experienced executives, among them senior government officials, have been engaged in the educational process The National Academy directly works with central and regional state authorities and local self-government bodies in the process of enrolling new students, running internship programs, and graduates post placement Educational and Research Facilities National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua

RIPAs train highly-qualified specialists in public administration for central and regional state authorities and local self-government bodies, state institutions and private companies On the contractual basisRIPAstrain specialists in other, related to public administration fields, such as: HR Management and Work Efficiency Business Administration Project Management Organizing Services in Hotels and Tourist Resorts RIPAs include 11 departments, 40 chairs and Centers for In-Service Training Regional Institutes of Public Administration (RIPAs) National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua

In 2007, anexperimental standard for higher education – a Master of Public Administration which is an analogue of the world-known MPA - was introduced at the National Academy The full-time day programme takes 18 months, while evening, and distance programmes require 30 months The full-time Master Programme of Public Administration - has been accredited by the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation(EAPAA) - was only the fourth such accreditation programme in Europe Master Programmes of Public Administration National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua

Curricula are based on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary model New Master programmes “Public Policy and Administration”, “Regional Administration”, “Local Self-governance”, “Public Administration in Health Protection”, “Public Administration in Education” and “Public Administration in National Safety” obtained the licenses in 2008 The Distance Learning Center provide distance training programmes Master Programmes for Public Administration National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine

The National Academy and its RIPAs today have nearly 820 post-graduate, doctor and post-doctoral students who are in the process of preparing post-graduate and doctoral theses in Public Administration in four main areas: Theory and History of Public Administration Mechanisms of Public Administration Civil Service Local Self-Government Six specialized graduate committees have been established for the purpose of defending theses Post-graduates and Doctors of Public Administration National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua

  12. Ukrainian Interregional Distance Learning Network It was created in 2005, connects 5 biggest cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv). It covers the whole territory of Ukraine. It consists of 7 DL servers with LMS “Prometeus” and e-learning courses for the National Academy students. In carrying out the reform of the system for training, re-training and in-service training of public servants and local self-government officials the National Academy and RIPAs actively cooperate with the German Center for International Migration and Development (http://www.cimonline.de), which two experts have been working at the National Academy on a permanent basis Unprecedentedly for Eastern Europe, the National Academy was chosen as venue of XVIII International Congress on Professional Development of Civil Servants, (15–17 June 2005) XV Annual Conference of the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee) Leadership and Management in Public Sector: Values, Standards and Competencies in Central and Eastern Europe (17–19 May 2007) International Co-operation National Academy of Public Administration, Office of the President of Ukraine www.academy.gov.ua
